What is the OFCP Round 2?

The On Farm Connectivity Program (OFCP) forms part of the Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Rural Australia and assists Primary Producers in the agriculture, forestry and/or fisheries to implement digital agribusiness solutions to boost productivity, improve safety, extend connectivity in their fields or to advantage of connected machinery and sensor technology by providing $18 million of funds for Round 2 of the initiative in 2024–25.

The objectives of the Program are to:

  • Extend digital connectivity and take advantage of advanced farming technology

  • Enhance a Primary Producers’ capacity to implement digital agribusiness solutions through improved connectivity

  • Capitalise on the agricultural sector’s potential for increased productivity and growth

  • Support access to new communications equipment by offsetting some of the cost.

Am I eligible?

  • Have had an ABN registered for at least 12 months.

  • Must be a primary producer in agriculture, forestry, or fisheries.

  • Have an annual income between $40,000 to $4,000,000.

  • Claim between $1,000 to $30,000 (ex GST) and able to pay 50% upfront after application approval.

    For example:
    An application to claim a total of $60,000 (ex GST) of eligible equipment is submitted.

    If approved you are required to pay $30,000 (ex GST) directly to R&R Communications.

    Equipment must delivered and installed within 120 calendar days.

    After project completion, R&R submit a payment request to the department for the remaining $30,000 (ex GST) which is paid directly to R&R.

Our Eligible Equipment

  • Farm Management

    Farm management systems that assist with monitoring on-farm conditions, infrastructure, livestock, assets and safety.

    Including security cameras systems:

    Off-grid solar camera systems for locations that do not have mains power available such as:
    boundary gates, sheds, sheep and cattle yards, diesel tanks, silos, woolshed, hay shed etc.

    Homestead, house and workshop security camera systems for locations that have mains power available.

    ✓Any other location that requires closed circuit television (CCTV) to monitor your livestock, assets or infrastructure.

    Cameras used have AI technology which enables two-way communications, audible and visual alerts from the unit while automatically sending a notification to the land owners smart devices when a person or vehicle is detected.

  • Connectivity Equipment

    Products that provide connectivity to sensors and controllers to a local area network or wide area network.

    Including Repeaters and Boosters:

    Wireless Access Points to expand your Wi-Fi coverage to access the internet and utilise Wi-Fi calling and text messaging inside of your home, workshop, sheep and cattle yards or any other location.

    Point to Point Links to extend your existing internet connection to infrastructure such as a workshop, off-grid camera system, bore pump, managers residence and more - reducing your ongoing monthly overheads by paying for one service and sharing to where it's needed.

    Cel-Fi mobile boosters for your vehicle, truck, tractor, header or any other asset, improving your mobile signal and safety while travelling.

    Cel-Fi stationary boosters for homes, woolsheds, cattle yards, workshops or any other infrastructure without the requirement to connect to a Wi-Fi network for calling and text messaging.

  • Other

    Support services to assist Primary Producers in enabling connectivity solutions.

    Including:

    ✓ Delivery costs

    ✓ Training costs

    ✓ Installation costs

The Application Process

Agreement

The Primary producer engages R&R Communications to check the eligibility for the rebate based on a checklist, a quotation for equipment and other associated costs is supplied and an agreement is reached to purchase the equipment.

Confirm Eligibility

R&R Communications submits an application form for the rebate to the Business Grants Hub, further eligibility checks are made and we are advised of the outcome of the checks.

Action Sale

Once eligibility is confirmed by the Business Grants Hub, R&R Communications will issue an invoice with the full amount payable by the primary producer (50% of the total cost).

Claim Rebate

R&R Communications have up to 120 calendar days to finalise the sale, including delivery and installation of equipment and lodge a claim for the remaining 50% payable by the rebate.

Rebate Paid

The Business Grants Hub process the claim and pays the rebate to R&R Communications.
